Raiders advance girls relay team and Rach to State

The Boys and Girls Raiders Track and Field teams competed at the Section 6A Championship Meet on Thursday, May 29, in Pelican Rapids. Athletes and relay teams placing in the top two of their respective events earned advancement to the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) State Track and Field Meet, scheduled for June 10–11.
Qualifying for the state meet were the Girls 4x800 Meter Relay team—Kendra Miller, Miette Hansel, Piper Dean, and Lezah Dean—who placed second with a time of 9:48.58, setting a new school record.
Also advancing was Brady Rach, who captured first place in both the 1600 Meter Run (4:22.50 – new school record) and the 800 Meter Run (1:59.11).
Several other Raiders athletes also delivered strong performances at the Section 6A Championship Meet.
Aulani Johnson competed in the 100 Meter Hurdles, placing 12th with a time of 18.90, and the 300 Meter Hurdles, finishing 14th in 54.31.
Ethan Snorek placed 7th in the 110 Meter Hurdles (17.85) and 14th in the 300 Meter Hurdles (45.93)....

On Thursday, May 22, the Lady Raiders traveled to Wadena Deer-Creek to participate in the Section 6A Sub-Section 22 meet. To advance to the Section 6A meet, individuals needed to place in the top 6, and relay teams needed to place in the top 3. The team placed 8th out of 13 teams.
Advancing to the Section 6A meet in Pelican Rapids on May 29 are: Lezah Dean - 400m (4th - 1:04.42), Kendra Miller - 800m (3rd, 2:26.25), Aulani Johnson 100m Hurdles (5th - 19.10) and 300m Hurdles (6th - 54.15), Payton Allen - Shot Put (6th - 30’05”), Piper Dean - High Jump (3rd - 5’0”), 4x400m relay team of Miette Hansel, Kendra Miller, Piper Dean, and Lezah Dean (2nd - 4:20.85), and 4x800m relay team of Miette Hansel, Kendra Miller, Piper Dean, and Lezah Dean (1st - 9:56.62).
“I can’t wait to see what these young ladies can accomplish at Sections on Thursday. Thank you to all the parents and fans who came to Wadena to support us - it means a lot to the girls,” said Head Coach Alexys Thompson....
