The weather conditions of the softball fields could change the sites and dates of the games this spring. The Rebels are coming off a 6-2 conference record that earned them a tie with Swanville for the conference championship last year.

Kristi Shamp, 18, of Eagle Bend narrowly escaped serious injury in a one-car rollover last Wednesday afternoon. Shamp was northbound on County Road 3 when she apparently fell asleep at the wheel of her late model Chevrolet S10 pickup. She crossed the road and went into the ditch where she hit a driveway approach. Her vehicle was airborne for about 75 feet before nose-diving into the ditch bank, then flipping end over end into the bottom of the ditch. She was saved by her seat belt and airbag.
