Eckel Limousine Service made its local debut in the Eagle Bend parade. It is the newest business venture of Tad and Dee Eckel, rural Eagle Bend. On June 26, Anthony Murch flew to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to pick up their 1994 Lincoln Town Car. With a 100 inch wheel base, the white and chrome limo is just shy of 22 feet long and has the capacity to carry eight people.

The All-School Reunion at Eagle Bend was considered a big success. People came from all corners of the United States. There were some that had never been to any of the reunions. Over 500 people enjoyed the Friday night variety show. Both floors of the auditorium were filled to capacity. Nancy Harren did a superb job in gathering talent from former school alumni and groups giving everyone an enjoyable evening.
50 Years Ago
July 17, 1975
The Gordon Miller family of Eagle Bend will be hosting Miwako Imai of Isumi-shi, Japan, from Thursday, July 24, through Monday, August 18. The exchange program is part of the Japanese Labo Program and the Minnesota 4-H International program.

A deal was completed July 2 whereby Roger Aspengren and Lyle Winters became the owners of the E.R. Nelson Implement building on Main Street. Roger and Lyle are already open for business with their line of Surge milking equipment.
