News from Eagle Bend's Past

25 Years Ago

June 27, 2001

The public is invited to preview the new Eagle Valley Clinic. The clinic’s official opening will be on Monday, July 2. The clinic, which is a collaborative effort between CentraCare Clinic of Long Prairie and Lakewood Clinic of Staples, will continue to provide all of the services, including lab and x-ray services in one location. The former clinic buildings in Clarissa and Eagle Bend will be closed.

Eagle Bend Chief of Police Dustin Alexander introduced his choices for part-time law enforcement officers at the council’s meeting. They are John Decock and Tim Wolf.

50 Years Ago

June 27, 1976

The Eagle Bend Bicentennial and Lions Club Carnival celebration was attended by literally thousands of people this past weekend.

This Saturday night is the first of two summer band concerts to be presented by the Eagle Bend High School Summer Band. The concerts will be held in the village park. Numbers included in the program will be familiar marches, show tunes, and special Bicentennial music.
