The 1996 coronation for Todd County Dairy Princess was held Saturday, April 20 at the Browerville Community Center. Princesses were Nicole Zeidler, daughter of Bruce and Cindy Zeidler of Eagle Bend; Laurie Brekke, daughter of Floyd and Betty Brekke also of Eagle Bend; and Amy Benning, daughter of Raymond and Karen Benning of Browerville. The girls will now advance to the regional competition which will be held on June 22 in Little Falls.
Eileen Uhlenkamp has been teaching since 1964. This year she was voted the Eagle Valley Teacher of the Year. She has taught K-12 in the special education program at the Eagle Bend School. Uhlenkamp began teaching 7-12 classes. She has also taught geography and physical education in high school.

The Eagle Bend FFA Chapter’s State Degree candidates for this year are Ricky Mittag, Ron Motl, and Rod Piepho. The annual State FFA Banquet will be held on May 3 in St. Paul.
The Eagle Bend Volunteer Fire Department received a call on Tuesday morning of this week at approximately 11:30 a.m. to assist in a search at the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Swanson located five and a half miles southwest of Eagle Bend. The search was being conducted by the Todd County Sheriff’s Department for Bruce Swanson, age 29.
