The Verndale School is hosting seven foreign exchange students this school year. Most came at the start of the school year, one came for the latter half.

I live in Hoogeveen, a small town in the province of Drenthe (in the Netherlands).
The big difference is that in my country everyone will travel with their bike or public transportation. Here, almost everybody has a car, and you cannot bike everywhere because of the distance.
Something I think is really fun is how involved everyone is with the school with sports and activities and that there is a real school spirit. If you play a sport in the Netherlands, it doesn’t go through school, so if you have a game, there are no fun dress-up themes and only some family will come and watch your game.
Something I really miss about home is my friends. I loved to go to festivals with them and just hang out. I also miss Dutch food...
