After much thought and reflection, I want to share that I will not be seeking a sixth term as Wadena County Sheriff. I have been truly blessed to serve this profession for 32 years and to be elected to five terms as your sheriff. There is no greater honor than being chosen by the people of Wadena County to serve you as your sheriff.
I am deeply grateful to the citizens of Wadena County for the trust you have placed in me, and to those who came before me who laid the foundation for this office. I also want to thank every current and past employee who has worked alongside me throughout my career. I have been fortunate to surround myself with solid, character-based people who take great pride in what they do every single day. Any accomplishments we have achieved were only possible because of the people who serve in this office.
We have made many positive changes over the years, and I am proud to say that this will be a true turnkey operation. This office is filled with some of the finest law enforcement professionals in central Minnesota—men and women who protect and serve the public and put themselves in harm’s way daily with honor, integrity, and pride.
While I still love this job and would do it all over again tomorrow, I know the time is right to step away, knowing the office is strong and well-positioned for the future. I have one full year remaining on this term, and I promise to finish with the same dedication and commitment that I have given throughout my 19 years as sheriff...
