Strong Individual Performances Highlight Raiders' Track Meet in Long Prairie

The Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale Raiders enjoyed their first taste of summer-like weather as they traveled to Long Prairie for a nine-team invitational on Tuesday, April 21.
The girls’ team was short-handed due to conflicting school activities, which made it challenging for the Raiders to compete at full strength. Despite that, the team turned in several strong individual performances.
Leading the way was Aulani Johnson, who placed fourth in the 300-meter hurdles (54.41) and fourth in the long jump (14-6.25). Piper Dean added a third-place finish in the 800-meter run (2:33.04) and took fifth in the high jump (4-6). Danika Wilhelmi earned a runner-up finish in the 800-meter run (2:33.51) while Kendra Miller earned a runner-up finish in the 1600-meter run (5:31.06), and Mckayla Kapphahn placed eighth in the same event (6:20.97)...
