Tigers Baseball Offense Sparks bur Cannot Overcome Errors

April 28, St. John’s   7, Browerville/EV 11, in Browerville. St. John’s 7 runs, 6 hits, 2 errors. Tigers 11 runs, 7 hits, 5 errors.

Tigers scored first in the bottom of the first when a Christian Tobas single brought in Ben Host to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead. St. John’s scored 4 times in the top of the 2nd to take a 4-1 lead. The Tigers scored one run in each of the next 4 innings to tie the game at 5-5 heading into the 6th. St. John’s took advantage of two Tiger errors at the top of the 6th to take a 7-5 lead. The Tigers answered back in the bottom of the 6th scoring 6 times to win the game at 11-7. In that 6th inning, the Tigers had 4 hits, highlighted by a 2-run single from Host. Maverick Dreher got the win, pitching 4 and 2/3 innings in relief, only giving up 1 earned run and striking out 5, and Ethan Schultz pitched a scoreless 7th to secure the win. After the game, the Tigers were 3-5 overall and 1-4 in conference. Next up is LPGE on Thursday, April 30, in Browerville.
