Tigers Earn Two Volleyball Victories

The Browerville-Eagle Valley Tigers earned two volleyball victories this week, defeating the Verndale Pirates in three sets on Monday before rallying for a five-set victory over the Upsala Cardinals on Thursday.
On Monday evening, the Tigers hosted Verndale and came away with a 3-0 victory with set scores of 25-16, 25-23, and 25-9.
The Tigers came out ready to play and cruised through the first set, taking control of the match early. In the second set, however, Browerville-Eagle Valley found itself trailing 15-6. A serving spark from Allie Bartels helped ignite the Tigers as they battled back to take an 18-16 lead.
The second set turned into a back-and-forth battle down the stretch, but the Tigers held on to win 25-23. With the momentum firmly on their side, the Tigers came out strong in the third set and pulled away for a convincing 25-9 victory to complete the sweep.
Santana Benning kept the Tiger offense in sync, finishing the match with 25 set assists. Gabby Elke led the attack with 12 kills, followed by Brynn Sudbeck with seven and Raylann Morgan with five.
Sudbeck also contributed four ace serves. Paxton Line led the defensive effort with 17 digs, while Elke recorded 15 and Bartels added 10...
