Tigers Put Together Strong Week on the Court

The Browerville-Eagle Valley Tigers had a busy and successful week on the volleyball court, picking up a pair of regular-season wins before finishing 2-2 at their annual Tiger Invitational.
The Tigers started the week Tuesday with a hard-fought four-set victory over Swanville, 25-23, 25-27, 26-24, 25-22.
Browerville-Eagle Valley jumped out early in the opening set and held off a late Bulldog rally to take the 25-23 win. The second set was a battle from start to finish, with Swanville edging the Tigers 27-25.
The Tigers found themselves in trouble early in the third set, trailing 22-14, but refused to let the set get away. They battled back to tie the score at 24-24 before scoring the final two points to complete the comeback, 26-24.
With the momentum on their side, the Tigers built an early lead in the fourth set. Swanville once again fought back, tying the score at 13-13, but the Tigers answered with a strong finish to claim the set 25-22 and the match.
Santana Benning finished with 28 set assists. Gabby Elke recorded four ace blocks, while Raylann Morgan added three. Elke led the Tiger attack with 11 kills, followed by Brynn Sudbeck and Olivia Browen with eight each and Morgan with seven. Elke also led the defense with 20 digs, while Allie Bartels had 15 and Elsie Puck finished with 10...
