Tigers Softball Rollercoaster Week on the Diamond

The Browerville-Eagle Valley softball team traveled to Wheaton last Monday, April 13, for a Section 6A matchup with the state-ranked Border-West Bucs, which is comprised of schools from Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley and Wheaton-Herman-Norcross. Good pitching and defense were the name of the game early on as the Tigers surrendered the early lead 0-3 going into the 5th. The Buc bats came alive in the 5th as they scored 6 runs in the inning to give the Tigers a 0-9 deficit. B/EV attempted to crawl back into the game by scoring 4 in the 6th inning. Ultimately, it wasn’t enough as the Tigers would lose by a final score of 4-11. The Tigers managed only 5 hits on the day, led by Freshman Kelsey Schmitt, who had 2. Chipping in with one hit a piece were juniors Bria Line and Elsie Puck, and Sophomore Lydia Reed. Sophomore Sam Irlbeck and Freshman Brynn Sudbeck pitched all 6 innings for the orange-and-black, with 7 of the Buc runs being earned...
