Tigers take first playoff game

The Tigers opened up their Section 5A West tournament play with a game against a common foe, the Upsala Cardinals. The Tigers and Cardinals are both in the Prairie Conference and have played twice already this season. Browerville/Eagle Valley came out on the winning end of both regular season games.
The Tigers defense carried the team in both halves of this one. They gave up just 15 first half points. Unfortunately, the offense was unable to take advantage of the solid defensive performance, putting 24 points on the board. The Cardinals committed 8 turnovers to just 1 for the Tigers in the first half.
Hans Puck had the early hot hand for the Tigers as he scored 9 points to lead the Tigers first half scoring. Parker Duncan scored 6 points. . .
