Tigers outlast Thunder in back-and-forth Prairie Conference Battle
The Browerville/Eagle Valley Tigers came out on top in a hard-fought Prairie Conference matchup, defeating the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder 69–62 on the road.
The game featured momentum swings right from the start. The Tigers opened with a 7–0 run, showing sharp early energy. The Thunder answered with a 10–0 burst to take control. Long Prairie-Grey Eagle later built a 19–13 lead, but Browerville/Eagle Valley responded again with a 10–0 run to grab the advantage. By halftime, the teams were deadlocked at 27–27.
In the second half, the Tigers found their offensive rhythm and stretched their lead to 13 points. The Thunder wouldn’t back down, battling back to close the gap to just two points at 56–54, setting up a tense finish.
Shooting efficiency proved to be the difference. Browerville/Eagle Valley connected on 10 three-pointers out of 24 attempts and was especially effective inside, shooting 64% from two-point range compared to 45% for the Thunder.
Long Prairie-Grey Eagle controlled the boards, outrebounding the Tigers 35–27, which led to 11 second-chance points and helped keep them within striking distance. But Browerville/Eagle Valley’s shot-making and composure down the stretch sealed the win...
