Verndale City Council: Generous donations received from various donors

The Verndale City Council held its regular meeting on October 11.

Water Tower Update

Clif Allen with Moore Engineering received several compliments on the new water tower. The lettering has been added and the top of the tower will be painted green. They are optimistic it will be in service in early to mid-November. The substantial completion of the project will be next summer.

Approved partial pay estimate number eight for the painting in the amount of $37,050.

They have $182,000 remaining in the budget. The old tower should come down next summer. Allen has not heard when paving around the new water tower will be done.

Fire Report

The fire department had eight medical calls for the month. Fire Chief Mike Madsen would like to use the $2000 donation to replace the vent saw. The council approved. . .
