Verndale School Board: Blaha steps down after 16 years of service to the district

The Verndale School Board held its regular meeting on December 5.

In September, the school-certified the max levy, $724 per student, with the intention to lower it.

For the past several years the bare minimum of $300 was set. This was not enough to gain additional funding from the state and has not compensated for inflation.

There was a $161 increase from the state last year. They currently receive $6863 per pupil allowance for this year. With the inflation, $1263 more is needed to cover the inflation beginning from 2022-2023. . .
