The Verndale School Board held their regular meeting on December 4.

Truth in Taxation Hearing

The public hearing was held on the proposed property tax levy. The state sets the maximum the district can levy. They previously approved the maximum levy and now they lower it, but not increase it.

State and federal funding for programs such as special education and Title 1 is received. The remaining cost is covered by the school. The budget is based on 512 students. The Local Optional Revenue (LOR) was previously set at $425....
