Wadena County Commissioners: Board members receive 2.25% salary increase

The Wadena County Commissioners held their regular meeting on December 8.
The board set the 2021 commissioner salary of $16,915 and an additional $1559 for the chair. It is a 2.25 percent increase from last year. The $100 per diem remained the same.
Building Projects
Ryan Odden, the county coordinator/engineer, presented a rough list of future building projects from BHH that included the items for the courthouse expansion and items for Public Health, Human Services, the Wensman Building, Solid Waste, Friendly Rider, Highway Department, Parks Committee and Fairgrounds.
Commissioner Jon Kangas was concerned with the large sum of money needed for this and felt it was more of a board discussion rather than a committee discussion. He would also like to look at other items such as remote offices, county land that could be sold, and barriers on sidewalks. . .
