New Pumps for Fairgrounds
County Engineer Darrin Fellbaum discussed the deteriorating condition of the sanitary lift station pumps at the county fairgrounds, which causes frequent alarms and service disruptions. Fellbaum advocated for replacing the pumps, emphasizing the importance of addressing the issue to avoid more frequent and costly repairs.
The board discussed the issue last fall, where Fellbaum had noted the condition of the pumps. These pumps work by grinding sewage up and then it pumps it out in the city’s treatment system.
Every year since Fellbaum has been with the county, the alarm goes off during the county fair as the pumps stop working. A specialized crew from The Cities must be called in to repair the pumps. The pumps have outlived their usefulness....
