Wadena County Commissioners: Routine discussion during regular meeting

The Wadena County Commissioners held their regular meeting on May 4.
Midsummer Music Fest
Midsummer Music Fest Organizer Trinity Junes has provided all of his information for the Large Gathering Ordinance (Ordinance 6) application for the music fest event to be held in July in Menahga on County Road 31. The application has outlined the estimated amount of people for attendance to be between 1000-3500 attendees per day, including an entertainment plan, medical plan, safety plans, etc. The county coordinator, public health and the sheriff’s office have looked at the application and feel that the event details are meeting all of the requirements of the ordinance.
There were concerns about traffic on the road and preventing people from parking on the road.
County Coordinator/Engineer Ryan Odden plans to issue a license.
A guest asked if there was a fireworks use permit with this. Odden explained Junes was not planning pyrotechnics that he knew of. He would have to submit information for that if he does have pyrotechnics. . .
