Wadena Highway Projects Begin for Second Year

MnDOT hosted an open house on Tuesday, April 7, to inform the public about the upcoming construction scheduled for 2026 in Wadena.

Crews plan to resume work on the east end of Highway 10 starting the week of Monday, April 13, weather permitting.

As in the previous year, significant changes are expected throughout Wadena. Generally, each work zone will have one lane open in each direction, except during detours. Residents and travelers should be prepared for narrow lanes, lane shifts, flaggers, and detours as access to local roads and adjacent connections may change.

From April 13 to late October, the work primarily east of Highway 71 will involve excavating and rebuilding road materials. Crews will construct segments of the road, entrances, half of the roundabout at Harry Rich Rd., and box culverts at Union Creek and Whiskey Creek.

Detours will be in effect during two major phases of construction. From early May to June, Highway 10 will be closed between Co. Rd. 4 and Harry Rich Dr. to excavate deeply, replace poor soil, and install the Union Creek box culvert. During this time, drivers should use Co. Rd. 4 and Harry Rich Dr. as alternate routes...
