Werner Faces Sexual Assault Charges

According to court documents, Jamie Allen Werner, 41, of Long Prairie, is charged with one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly using coercion to sexually penetrate another person and causing injury, and one count of third-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly using coercion to sexually penetrate another person.

If convicted, the first-degree charge carries a mandatory prison sentence of at least 144 months (12 years) under Minnesota law, while the third-degree charge carries a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and/or a $30,000 fine.

According to the criminal complaint, the woman traveled to Werner’s Long Prairie home on July 3 after he invited her to spend the Fourth of July weekend with him. The two had previously dated for six to seven months but had not been in contact since May 2026...
