Ted Matthews has been working with Minnesota farmers for many years in the realm of mental health and is funded through the legislature. There was a push to get a second person on board.
Monica Kramer McConkey became that second person in 2019.
McConkey has been in the mental health field for 25 years. She works with farmers, ranchers and their families.
The stressors of farming and ranching have a common thread. Think about physical, mental and spiritual health. We have all these in varying degrees.
Mental health is often equated to mental illness. McConkey explained we all have some degree of mental health. . .
