A Verndale School alum is pursuing his dream of joining the NFL.

Seth Zins, 24, a 2015 Verndale School graduate, recently traveled to Texas for a showcase of the CFL (Canadian Football League).

His love for the game came from athleticism that runs in his blood. Mom Cindy Zins was a district champ track runner, Dad Al Zins was an all-conference football player for Osakis with offers to play for the Gophers.

Zins is the youngest child of Al and Cindy. His siblings include Cory Hess, Ben Hess, Jolene Hinkle, Jessica Funk, and Ashley Becker.

“I’m the only one of the combined litter,” he chuckled.

Zins has been playing football since fourth grade. In high school, he was told he’d never play professional football.

“It was my mindset that got me where I am, not my physical ability. I wasn’t going to let someone else’s opinion dictate my future,” shared Zins.

After high school, the defensive end attended Central Lakes College and played on the Raiders football team for two years. . .
