The Minnesota Department of Transportation will convert the rural two-way stop intersection in Hewitt into an all-way stop intersection in July to improve safety and reduce severe crashes. Work is scheduled for Highway 71 at Highway 210 in Hewitt, Todd County, around July 14. Traffic will be flagged while crews install new signs, which may result in brief delays. Seip Drug in Clarissa has temporarily closed due to a shortage of pharmacists. The pharmacy closed at the end of June. Owner Nathan Seip said the closure is not related to a lack of business but rather the ongoing challenge of finding a pharmacist to staff the location. In the meantime, Seip Drug is assisting customers through its Battle Lake location. Patients who need help with prescriptions or medications are encouraged to call the Battle Lake pharmacy at 218-864-5261...

I hurt my back while switching out a five-gallon water jug over the weekend. I’ve done this many times before, but this time I felt something pull in my back. By the evening, I was in horrible pain. That night, I wasn’t home and wasn’t paying attention when I took a steroid, which kept me awake, resulting in a horrible night’s sleep. I took another one in the morning. Between that and the Tylenol, I was able to make it home for muscle relaxers, hoping Monday would be better.
