Missing Man Found Deceased
The Wadena County Sheriff’s Office asked for the public’s help on Friday in locating a missing man from the Staples area. Russell Nanik, 87, was reported missing by family members on the evening of March 6. He was last seen leaving his residence north of Staples around 10 a.m. on Friday. Driver Crashes through Emergency Entrance at Hospital
On February 26, at around 8:25 p.m., officers from the Staples Police Department were dispatched to Lakewood Health System, County Road 83, in the city of Staples, for a report of a vehicle that had driven through the emergency room entry doors. It was also reported that the driver had sustained injuries as a result of the accident. Upon arrival, officers found that the driver was already receiving medical treatment from hospital staff. No additional injuries were reported.
