Mother Charged with Exploiting Minor Children

Sara Ann Tangeman, 41, of Staples, is charged with two counts of using a child under the age of 14 in child sexual abuse material, each carrying a maximum penalty of 15 years in prison and a $40,000 fine.
She is also charged with one count of using a minor in child sexual abuse material, punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine; one count of disseminating child sexual abuse material, which carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison and a $10,000 fine; and one count of possessing child sexual abuse material, punishable by up to five years in prison and a $5,000 fine.
In addition, Tangeman faces two gross misdemeanor obscenity charges for allegedly distributing obscene material and participating in an obscene performance, each carrying a maximum penalty of 364 days in jail and a $3,000 fine.
According to court documents, on October 26, 2025, a police sergeant met with two witnesses at the Staples Police Department. They reported that A.B., a minor relative, had been photographed and videotaped nude by her parent, Sara Ann Tangeman...
