Finalists Selected For County Administrator
The search for a county administrator is being led by Strategic Government Resources (SGR), a national recruitment firm. Michael Czymbor, Executive Vice President for Recruiting and a former city manager with 39 years of experience, is serving as the county’s consultant.
The administrator position was posted December 8, drawing 19 applicants from 10 states, including eight from Minnesota. After an initial screening, SGR selected eight semifinalists from six states; one later withdrew, leaving seven semifinalists for the board’s consideration.
Because of Minnesota data privacy laws, candidates were identified only by letters: F, G, H, I, N, Q and S. Commissioners received a candidate book, online interview links and written questionnaires prior to the meeting.
Czymbor presented brief profiles of each semifinalist:
Candidate G holds a master’s in public administration and bachelor’s degrees in civil engineering and mathematics. The candidate has served as an assistant county administrator and city administrator in Minnesota, as well as a public works director and project manager in the private engineering sector.
Candidate Q has a bachelor’s degree in economics and more than seven years of experience as a city administrator in Minnesota, along with prior work in planning, community development and a state-level government role.
Candidate S has a bachelor’s degree and about six years of experience working for two Minnesota municipalities, plus positions in the public school system and the YMCA, bringing additional community and nonprofit experience.
Candidate I holds multiple master’s degrees, including in planning and public administration, and is a former career Army officer who has managed medium to large communities and overseen complex operations...
