Against the Odds: Easton Braaten’s Inspirational Basketball Moment

Bertha-Hewitt team manager Easton Braaten had the opportunity to play in the Junior High basketball game against Parkers Prairie on February 13.
Easton, a seventh grader, has Osteogenesis Imperfecta, brittle bone disease, that prevents him from playing sports. He’s been a student manager for the team, attending practice and games as much as he can. He gets the balls and helps with drills.
“It’s a way for him to be involved anyway, without being involved,” explained his mom Chelsea, who was very excited about the big moment.
Easton walked onto the court and made a basket on his first try.
The basketball coach, Jared Hoemberg, is Easton’s uncle, supported by fellow coach Andy Rach....
