Bats, Gloves, and Family Bonds - The Riedel's Lifelong Love of Baseball

Baseball has long been the heartbeat of the Riedel family in Clarissa—a passion that has been lovingly passed down through generations.

For Logan Riedel, 30, the connection to the sport runs deep, with his family’s lineage steeped in baseball tradition.

“We’re really a bunch of ball players,” he shared, “One could argue we came out of the womb with a bat and glove.”

This passion is shared among Logan’s siblings—Megan, 28; Ryan, 19; and Alayna, a spirited eighth grader who plays multiple positions, from catcher to shortstop and pitcher.

“She’s [Alayna] a little spitfire,” Logan beamed. “She loves it… she’s all over the place.”

For Logan, summer and baseball go hand in hand. The memories range from summer rec and T-ball to Babe Ruth and high school competitions.

“It’s probably one of the easiest sports to access,” he explained. “You just need a ball and a bat, right? It’s something you can do by yourself or with a few buddies, and it connects with the community.”

Growing up watching their dad, Adam, play town ball for various teams, and mother, Tammy, who played in women’s softball leagues, the Riedel siblings eagerly embraced every opportunity to take the field.
