Bears pick up two wins

The Bertha-Hewitt Bears picked up two Section 5A wins this past week, defeating the Mille Lacs Raiders 57-48 and the St. John’s Prep Johnnies 66-28. The Bears also took on Park Region Conference foe the Eagles of New York Mills, falling 66-44.
The Bears started the week by traveling to Isle to take on the Mille Lacs Raiders.
The Bears started the game by winning the tip but failing to convert a quick score.
The Raiders came down the court and scored on their first possession. The Bears were able to answer right back with Carissa Winscher having a nice finish in the paint.
The 2 teams traded baskets, with the Bears making their first 6 shots from the floor using a combination of transition baskets and post-play. . .
