Bears runs a strong first meet

The 2022 Bertha-Hewitt Cross Country season had a challenging start at the 57th annual Staples-Motley Central Minnesota River Run.

The boys race featured some of the top teams in section 6A and a top contender in section 8A as well as some AA schools.

The Bears ran well with an average time of 19 minutes even. Park Rapids from section 8A easily won the meet scoring only 28 points and placing 5 guys in the top 10.

Section 6a favorite Staples-Motley finished second followed by AA Fergus Falls and Bertha-Hewitt placed 4th with a score of 79 easily beating Sauk Centre who was fifth with 155 points. . .
