Bears swamped by Pirates to end season

The Bertha-Hewitt Bears, seeded third, faced an early exit from the sub-section playoffs as they were defeated by the sixth-seeded Verndale Pirates.
Despite having secured two victories against the Pirates in the regular season, the Bears couldn’t maintain their dominance when it mattered most. The Pirates shot the ball very well and on the contrary, the Bears had a hard time getting the ball in the basket at times.
On the evening of Thursday, March 7, the Bears concluded their season with a 72-64 loss to the Verndale Pirates. The first half witnessed a closely contested battle, characterized by a back-and-forth style of play. The Pirates showcased their determination in securing quality shots, while the Bears’ defense exerted considerable effort to make every point earned by the Pirates hard-fought....
