by Coach Steven Kvam

This past week the Bertha-Hewitt Bears took on the Upsala Cardinals and Brandon-Evansville Chargers.

Bears 37 Chargers 47

On Tuesday afternoon the Bears traveled to Evansville to take on the Chargers, falling 47- 37.

The game started with each team struggling to connect from the floor. The Chargers jumped to a 10 – 2 lead, Taylor Lloyd found Ashley Warren on a front cut to get the scoring started for the Bears.

Taylor Mitchell broke the Bears' drought from the floor at the 12-minute remaining mark with a left-side drive, followed by Rochelle Dean taking a Chargers turnover coast-to-coast for the finish.

The Bears cut the lead to 10–8. The Chargers were able to go on a short run 14–5 run to end the half to be up 24–13.

The second half started with the Chargers in a full-court press which caused the Bears fits. The Bears, when able to break it, had lay-ups on their end, but the Chargers were able to transition Bears turnovers into baskets for themselves. . .
