BHVPP Girls Wrestling Gets Valuable Mat Experience at Sertoma Tournament; Wagner Claims Title

The Bertha-Hewitt-Verndale-Parkers Prairie (BHVPP) Girls Wrestling team got a lot of valuable mat time at the Sertoma Girls Tournament in Grand Forks, North Dakota, with every wrestler getting at least three matches while competing in the Varsity brackets, including a championship title.
Wagner had a dominant day, going undefeated with three victories, all secured by pin. She started her tournament with a quick pin over B. Traxler of TRG in 1:05, followed by a fall over Lexi Ray of Grand Forks in 4:01. Wagner then sealed her title in the final round with a win by fall over M. Pulk of BGMR in 5:52.
The BHVPP roster worked hard in a highly competitive field, with several wrestlers battling through tough brackets and securing multiple wins:
100-106 Pounds
Anika Bostic (100 lbs) finished the day with a 2-2 record. Her victories both came by way of fall, pinning her opponent from PCN in 1:06 and Naomi DeFord of Mayville in a swift 26 seconds. She is learning how valuable leg riding can be when a little technique is added. Anika placed 5th.
Kristin Grewe (106 lbs) earned a win by fall over S. Slominski of Grand Forks, contributing to her 1-2 record. She is doing a great job with hand control in the neutral and bottom positions. Kristin Grewe placed 7th...
