Browerville man killed in side by side accident
On August 27, at 3:14 a.m., the Todd County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an injury crash at the County 59 and 281st Avenue intersection in Round Prairie Township.
A 2021 Can-Am Maverick was being driven by Matthew Pohlmann, 26, of Grey Eagle. After making a turning maneuver, the driver of the vehicle lost control, tipping on its side.
As a result of this, the passenger, Brandon Host, 27, of Browerville was ejected. Host was declared deceased at the scene.
Both parties involved were not wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
Pohlmann was cleared by medical personnel on scene and was taken into custody for Criminal Vehicular Homicide.
The crash is under investigation at this time.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in this incident.
The Todd County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Grey Eagle Fire and Rescue, Long Prairie Ambulance and the Minnesota State Patrol.
