Bruder Retires after Two Decades

After more than 20 years behind the counter at Unity Bank, Clarissa, Julie Bruder is retiring with a full heart and deep ties to the community she’s served.

Bruder began her career in 2006 as a part-time employee, eventually moving into a full-time role. While the building itself hasn’t changed, the way banking is done certainly has. She’s seen the transition from mostly paper records to digital systems—and now a blend of both.

“The scanners have changed a lot,” she noted, reflecting on how technology reshaped daily work.

Before joining the bank, Bruder worked at Dan’s Prize and part-time at a greenhouse. A job posting led her to Unity Bank, but it was the people who made her stay.

“Both the customers and the coworkers—that’s what kept me here,” she said.

Over the years, she’s come to treasure the daily conversations and connections.

“I’ve loved talking with customers and helping with their banking needs. We have wonderful people here—they come from all over..."
