Charges filed against Buckentine who killed Kramer and severely injured Pooler in car accident


Charges were filed in Sherburne County against Hunter Michael Buckentine, 23, of Avon who caused a car accident that killed Jordan Kramer, 34, of Clarissa and left Candice Pooler, 38, of Clarissa with serious injuries.

Buckentine is facing five felony charges: Murder in the third degree-perpetrating eminently dangerous act and evincing depraved mind (sentence of up to 25 years); Criminal vehicular homicide-operate motor vehicle in grossly negligent manner (10 years/$20,000 fine); Criminal vehicular homicide-driver who causes collision leaves scene (10 years/$20,000 fine); Criminal Vehicular operation-substantial bodily harm-gross negligence (five years/$10,000 fine); criminal vehicular operation-substantial bodily harm-driver who causes collision leaves scene (five years/$10,000 fine).

On August 19, at approximately 1:11 a.m., a Minnesota State Trooper was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 10 near County Road 8 in Becker.

The trooper saw a dark colored sedan vehicle heading westbound, by itself, in a 60 mile per hour zone. The trooper’s radar showed the vehicle’s speed to be 132 mph.

The trooper attempted to catch up to the speeding vehicle, but it kept pulling away until he was barely able to see it. The last speed the trooper was able to obtain was 116 mph before he lost sight of the vehicle. . .
