Commissioners Approve Resolution of $50K Safety Grant for New Radios

Sheriff Allen requested approval of a resolution to submit an Impact Funding application to Sourcewell for financial support in the amount of $50,000 to purchase ten portable radios from Motorola. The current radios were purchased in 2007. Sourcewell Impact funding is specific to providing for public safety.
Jackie Bauer, administrator, requested approval of two resolutions to submit a $50,000 Sourcewell Community Impact Grant Funding application and a $40,000 Sourcewell Match Funds Grant (25% from county funds) for county projects. Bauer stated she is in the process of gathering requests from department heads to submit with the applications that are due September 24. The grants are selected in a lottery system.
Commissioners approved the resolutions presented by Sheriff Allen and Administrator Bauer.
