A Bertha man has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with a 1995 homicide in Black Hawk County, Iowa. Kelly Joseph Grant, 59, of Bertha, was arrested October 16 by Black Hawk County Sheriff’s deputies and agents with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. On Saturday, October 3, at approximately 2 p.m., the Minnesota State Patrol responded to and investigated a three-vehicle crash on Highway 71 near Hope Drive. The initial crash involved two vehicles that were northbound when one struck the other from behind. One of those vehicles then struck a southbound vehicle. A Browerville woman was injured on Monday, August 17, after a pickup and semi collided on Highway 27 in Long Prairie Township.
