The Wadena County Commissioners held their regular meeting on Tuesday, April 8.
Space Needs Are Growing
The county is currently working through several space allocation challenges involving multiple departments: administrative executive assistant, Veterans Service Office, and 4-H Extension staff.
Proposed temporary solutions include moving the Veterans Service Office to the Highway Department office or using the Hope Center. They are also considering moving HR to the human services building to free up office space. They don’t like the idea of moving veteran’s services multiple times. Another idea was to move it to the current extension office.
They want to move the administrator and assistant to the current veteran’s service office. They also discussed moving into HR or auditor office.
Jennifer Westrum explained there is an issue with the HR office and being able to hear what is going on in there. The administrator does not need to listen to what HR is taking care of, and HR doesn’t need to hear what the administrator is dealing with. She explained there’s nowhere for an employee to go in that office space and have a confidential conversation.
She suggested moving HR to the human services building and using the HR space for the administrator and assistant, keeping them together. They also felt they needed to keep the HR and auditors’ offices close due to payroll....
