Jeff Schindeldecker—who is developing the Sleepy Hollow addition—voiced concerns about the status of a sliver of road property owned by the county. He highlighted the unresolved ownership of this parcel, which is crucial for buyers to secure mortgages on the lots he is developing. He expressed frustration that he believed the issue would already be settled, either by selling the land to him or to the city of Nimrod, so that development could proceed without title complications.

Maule clarified that the county had to first confirm its own ownership from MnDOT and research easements before being able to convey the land.
The city had shown interest in June, and the consensus was to possibly transfer the parcel to the city—but further steps were required.
The commissioners agreed that for a conveyance to happen, the necessary easements must be described by a surveyor and legal documents prepared—most likely at the developer’s expense. The city of Nimrod would also need to submit a formal written request indicating its intent to accept and maintain the road as a public street...
