Farmers to Family Food Drop returns

The Farmers to Families Food Drop has returned.

The USDA sponsored food drops include approximately 40 pounds of proteins, fruit, and vegetables. Items vary depending on the producer and could include potatoes, sour cream, cottage cheese, a gallon of milk, cheese, and varying proteins that could be sausage patties, meatballs, and other items.

Each drop location will have 900-1000 boxes of food for distribution. Please listen to volunteers and traffic controllers.

This is free and proof of income is not needed. It is a first-come, first-serve basis.

Verndale Family Life Church

A distribution will be held on February 2. The distribution will begin at 4 p.m. Please do not arrive prior to 3 p.m. Location: 402 NE Clark Drive, Verndale. They are limiting it to two boxes per family.

Eagle Bend Assembly of God

The distribution will be held on February 5, beginning at 3 p.m. Please do not arrive before 2 p.m. You must park at the Faith Lutheran Church located on the west side of Highway 71. Please follow the instructions of the traffic directors. Location: 205 Central Avenue, Eagle Bend.

Bertha New Life Church of God

The distribution will be held on February 15 and will begin at 1 p.m. Please do not arrive prior to noon. Please follow the instruction of the traffic directors. Location: 401 Main Street West, Bertha. Contact Kristy Brown at the number above.

Volunteers are needed—on average, approximately 30 people that can lift and carry 40-pound boxes for three to four hours. If you are interested in helping at one of the distribution sites, please call the contact person listed.

Tentative dates for future distributions have been reserved through April.
