Fatal accident
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, on Monday, March 27, at 11:24 a.m., a fatal accident occurred north of Wadena at the intersection of Highway 71 and Leaf River Road.
A Freightliner Cascadia operated by Roman Polusmak, 27, of Olympia, WA, was traveling northbound on Highway 71. A Nissan Pathfinder was traveling eastbound on Leaf River Road. The vehicles collided at the intersection of these two roads.
Polusmak was not injured in the accident.
The driver of the Nissan, Farha Naz, 58, of Motley, was taken to CentraCare St. Cloud with life-threatening injuries. Naz’ passenger Razia Sultana Qureshi, 67, of Motley, was killed in the crash.
Assisting at the scene were the Wadena Fire Department and the Wadena Police Department.
