FFA members shine at state convention

Thirty-one FFA members left the Verndale School on Sunday, April 27. They stopped for a farm tour at Rohe Dairy, a dairy farm with robotic milkers and robotic calf feeders, and then shopped at the Crossroads Mall in St. Cloud before heading to the hotel to relax.
On Monday, 26 students competed in Horse Judging, Livestock Judging, Dairy Evaluation, Milk Quality, Meats, Farm Business Management, and Best Informed Greenhand contests.
Two students served as delegates and voted on new state policies to be added or amended in the bylaws.
Three students participated in community service projects.
Many of the students attending were able to attend the Career Connections career fair, which is organized on their behalf. After the completion of contests, they were able to attend the first two general sessions of the convention.
