The Section 6A tournament took place last Friday with 104 wrestlers from nine teams vying for 26 tickets to the state tournament. It was a long day of competition with plenty of highs and lows.  BHVPP had wrestlers entered in 12 of the 13 weight classes and started the opening round strong, going 7-4. Isaiah Duberowski, Merrick Hoffman, Wyatt Jares, Hudson Truax, Preston Captain, Gage Barthel, and Tanner Schulke all came away victorious to join Adam Grabow in the semifinals.

Grabow sparked the semifinal round with a second-period fall. Isaiah Duberowski followed with a major decision. Hoffman lost a hard-fought decision. Jares added a quick fall while Truax cruised to the tech fall. Captain and Barthel came up just short in their quest to reach the finals.  Schulke dominated the top seed with positioning and strength to pull the upset, and the Raiders had five wrestlers in the championship bouts.

As we moved to the backside of the bracket, the focus was on climbing back onto the podium. Ruger Oyster claimed a decision. Logan Becker and David Veronen secured falls to guarantee that all twelve Raiders would medal...
