Pink Peony is a new boutique and floral shop located in a historic building in downtown Browerville. The owner, Amy Tolifson, is balancing her new store with her established photography business while striving to create a welcoming space for customers.

Tolifson shared that the opportunity to open Pink Peony arose unexpectedly. She spotted a “building for sale” sign on BK Blooms while getting her hair done at 521 Salon, which is in the back of the store. After discussing it with her husband, Brian, they decided to purchase the building.

“We decided on May 20 to buy it, with the purchase completed by June 1. It was very last minute,” she noted.

Her vision for Pink Peony is to return to the boutique’s roots that began with Sprinkle of Joy, offering fashionable clothing, charming gifts, and a unique shopping experience that attracts people in-person rather than online.

A crucial component of the business is maintaining the floral side, as Pink Peony is the only floral shop in town. After all, who doesn’t enjoy fresh flowers?

Tolifson explained while not a florist herself, she hired Vicki Johnson to fill that role...
