From boredom to a thriving career: Seth’s journey across Minnesota

Five years ago, in April 2020, a young man named Seth Varner found himself grappling with boredom amid the pandemic. After finishing a day shift at Dairy Queen and attending an online class at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, he turned his attention to organizing his basketball card collection.
With COVID-19 resulting in widespread closures, he felt a sense of stagnation in his life, which revolved around school and cruising with friends.
“It was a Wednesday night, and I had had enough. I was tired of sitting around every day, wasting away in my room as time quietly marched onwards,” Varner recalled.
Determined to make a change, he decided to clean out his closet. While sorting through dusty shelves, he stumbled upon an old scrapbook titled “My Nebraska Adventure: Part 1.” This artifact brought back memories of a genealogy project his family had undertaken years earlier, where his father photographed locations relevant to their family history.
“Little Seth, being a curious third-going-on-fourth grader, was enthralled by Nebraska history,” he reflected....
