Leona Nelson, Clarissa, was chosen as one of Todd County’s Outstanding Senior Citizens at a recognition and coronation ceremony held at the Hewitt Senior Citizens Center on June 21. There were six nominees for Todd County Outstanding Senior Citizens. From those six, George Green and Leona Nelson were chosen and will represent Todd County in statewide competition.

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Jasmer, who own and operate the Clarissa Farm Service, expanded their business ventures this past week by purchasing the Long Prairie Milling Company.

Tom Green, store manager of the JC Penney company store in Brainerd, announced today that the Clarissa High School was included in 19 area schools that will receive a very special gift of bicentennial music.
