January 16, 2001

Dale Hanson and Diane Ahrendt tied the knot on January 1, 2001 at 1 p.m. in the chapel at the Central Todd County Care Center, making them the first reported newlyweds in our area.

The Broncos wrestling team traveled to Royalton to wrestle in an eight team invitational. The Broncos wrestled to fifth place with one champion, Eli Brunell at 140, and Nate Pachan placing second.

50 Years Ago

January 16, 1976

Dave Hansen was re-elected as chief to again head the Clarissa Volunteer Fire Department for the coming year. The election was held at the annual meeting at the department last Monday evening, January 12.

Last Thursday night, the Clarissa wrestlers went to Browerville and came home with a 37-19 victory. The Bucs fell behind in the early matches, but came back strong in the heavier weights. The victory raises the wrestling season record to seven to one.
